EMERGERS Leading the Way at Living Future 2015

Several EMERGE Alumni are participating in Living Future’s 2015 Unconference as featured speakers and tour leaders:

Islandwood workshop 8-Harrel&DinkhunMyer Harrel will be speaking on Carrots & Karats: Economic Models for Urban Agriculture. (That’s Myer in the photo with Shawn Dinkhun, presenting their scenario results at the EMERGE Islandwood Residency, this past January.)

Rachael Meyer will be speaking on Urban Agriculture: Fertile Resources for the Pacific Northwest’s Growing Soil and Water Based Urban Farms.
Jennifer Barnes will be speaking on The Missing Link: How Human Survival Requires the Design Community to Regenerate.
Alexandra Ramsden will be speaking on “Cities that Function Like Forests: An Innovative Approach to Urban Resiliency.
Kathleen Smithwill be offering “Tips for Success: Living Building Project Teams Share Lessons Learned on Energy, Water & Materials.
Alicia Uhlig-Danielswill be speaking on “Just Right: Social Equity as Standard Practice.
Pat Park & Linda Hillesheim, will be leading a preconference tour (so you can register separately): The Herb Farm + 21 Acres (This tour will provide fabulous, sustainable eats! Yum!)

Joann Ware will be speaking on “Love & Forgiveness in Action: Healing Neighborhoods through Design for the Common Good.”

And of course, don’t forget to visit EMERGE’s interactive booth (#12) at Living Future’s Exhibit. Executive Director (and Cascadia Fellow) Kathleen O’Brien will be there to answer any questions you may have about EMERGE; and you’ll get to add your two cents (or more) to the exhibit’s three questions about community and place, the conference’s theme this year.
