EMERGE LEADERSHIP PROJECT NEWS, Summer 2013

SmilingFolks_IslandwoodNonprofit Status…Workshop Schedule…New Faculty…New On-Line Course

Nonprofit Status: The EMERGE Leadership Project has nearly completed its transition to a self-standing 501(c)3 non-profit.  What does this mean? Further reach with the resources we have, and the opportunity to develop a scholarship fund.

Fall/Winter Intensives Scheduled: The two-day EMERGE Leadership Skills for Green Building Advocates workshop has been scheduled with venues in the Bay Area, Seattle, and Portland, each with their own flavor but all thoroughly satisfying (check out testimonials on our website.)  This year we are offering the following discounts: memberships in local USGBC chapters, CSBA Status, Earlybird registration, and payment by check. (Go to: EVENTS for  schedule and registration portals.)

New Faculty:
We are delighted to have Kelly Lerner, Alli Kingfisher, and Rick Chitwood as Guest Faculty this year, in addition to veterans Ann Edminster David Eisenberg. Guest Faculty are chosen because they are 1) great examples of sustainable building leadership in line with the emergent philosophy, and 2) have a particular and relevant leadership skill they will be teaching. Check out the bios for all our faculty members.

New On-Line Leadership Adventure: Authors and green building veterans Kathleen O’Brien, Ann Edminster, and Chris Dorsi are collaborating in a 10-week on-line course that combines their perspectives on leadership.  Debuts this Fall. Check out Blueprint for Leadership.  Particularly good for those wanting an introduction to the EMERGE Leadership Model and wanting to apply it to practical personal and organizational capacity building, and enjoy independent, asynchronous learning environments. Not designed to replace the two-day workshop intensive.
